After years of travelling the world and living in hostels, I’ve seen the industry from every angle. I started as a backpacker and worked my way through various roles, including marketing management and operations. Now, I combine my passion for hostels with business acumen to help hostel owners maximise their potential.
The first time I stayed in a hostel alone was in Berlin, 2016. Far from the community experience I had envisioned, it was isolating. Nobody interacted; strangers constantly came and went from my room, leaving me to wonder what I had gotten myself into. It was a disheartening introduction that nearly ruined the anticipation of my three-week journey. This is exactly the kind of experience I aim to help others avoid.
